Manvers Street Hostel

Manvers St Hostel, in Bath, provides 20 beds with 24-hour staff support. We ensure that people sleeping rough can come in and be welcomed by staff who are keen to support each person to recover from homelessness.  


If you are sleeping rough in Bath our Manvers street hostel provided emergency accommodation and support.
You can Self-refer at this service or you can be refereed via agencies, this is a first-come, first-served service.

Outreach Services (B&NES)

We have an excellent multi-disciplinary outreach team in B&NES who are out on the streets 5 days a week, ensuring anyone who has been forced to sleep rough, or is leading a street-based lifestyle, understands the support and options available to them.

Housing First

Housing First is a relatively new approach that provides stable housing as a platform for people with multiple and complex needs to begin recovery and move away from the streets.  Julian House, Curo and DHI are working together to provide accommodation and support at 13 properties in B&NES along with a tailored support package, ensuring each tenant can sustain their accommodation in the long term.

Build-a-Bike (Bath)

Julian House Bike Workshop is committed to offering vulnerable people opportunities to build confidence, learn skills and get a positive lift back into independence and employment.

Build-a-Bike is a four-week project-based course that has been developed in collaboration with Julian House service users. The course is intended for people with a history of homelessness, an offending background, substance misuse needs or long-term unemployment.

Supported housing for people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition

We offer a 9-bed supported housing project in Bath for Adults with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorders. Commissioned through HCRG Care Group, this service offers support to encourage and enables residents to move towards independent living by improving life skills and working with other agencies such as social services and state specialist services e.g. B&NES & Bristol Autism Advice Service (BAAS) to ensure the right package of care and support is in place, at the right level.

Supported Housing (B&NES)

Julian House provides 27 units of shared supported accommodation in B&NES for single homeless people with medium support needs. The aim of the service is to enable residents to develop sufficient independent living skills to move on successfully to either lower support, more appropriate or more permanent accommodation within 6 to 12 months. 

Referral Route: Varies – For Barnabas House (11 units) please apply through B&NES Housing Gateway for all other accommodation, please contact the team below.  All referrals must have a local connection to B&NES.

Travelling Communities Support and Engagement

Julian House has a dedicated Outreach Team providing flexible and holistic 1:2:1 support that is tailored to the needs of each individual. We also work with service providers and agencies; identifying inclusive ways of working to reduce inequalities experienced by GRTB communities.

Supported Housing Ex-offenders (B&NES)

The B&NES offender supported housing service provides 11 units of supported accommodation for offenders. The service supports those offenders deemed as being at high risk of re-offending and works in partnership with Probation, Police, Local Authorities, Mental Health, substance misuse treatment and other specialist community partnership support agencies. 

All referrals are via B&NES Housing Gateway referral system and have a local connection to B&NES

Good Start Fund

 

The Good Start fund ensures Outreach Workers are well resourced to deliver on their promises.  The donated funds are specifically for use with people who are rough sleeping to help them come off the streets and move on – for good.  Whether it is something short term or a slightly bigger need, such as turning their room into a home, Good Start funding is there for anyone who has slept rough in Bath and North East Somerset.
