In Basingstoke Julian House currently run outreach and support services for people experiencing homelessness; through our work with clients in the area, we have found that there is a need for rough sleepers to be able to store their possessions securely.
A place to store personal belongings is a significant issue for many with no fixed abode due to loss, damage or theft. A recent petition from businesses also identified left belongings as an area of concern.
We have teamed up with some of the other projects who operate in Basingstoke for rough sleepers, to try and deliver this much needed service.
As part of Real Change 2017 we are trying to raise the funds through a crowdfunding campaign to be able to try and provide a set of secure lockers for any clients who are sleeping rough.
