New domestic violence and abuse accommodation opens for male and LGBT clients and families.

As the sole provider of domestic abuse refuge accommodation across BANES, Julian House works hard to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society. We tailor our supported accommodation to suit the various needs of our clients. This ensures we can help as many people as possible escaping domestic abuse, including those with young and teenage children. Many people believe domestic abuse only affects women, with many UK service providers and charities only offering support to females. However, this is not the case. Anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse and that’s why we’ve opened a special facility to also help males and LGBT+ victims. We’re currently supporting our first male victim and his two young children. This is a fully funded contracted service on behalf of the local authority.

Hairdresser offers free cuts to homeless clients.
Eddie Street Cuts, run by Eddie Ilic has been visiting our Manvers Street Hostel to give some of our clients a well deserved pampering. Eddie himself has battled with his own addictions and now brings a valuable service to the community and people who don’t often get the opportunity to relax and enjoy a haircut.
