Yasmin Freeman wasn’t a runner until her sister talked her into a Couch to 5k challenge, which went thousands of steps further than she thought possible when she completed her first half marathon this month at the Swansea University Half Marathon.
So far she has raised £892.00 for Julian House!

My active life has always involved skateboarding, swimming, skiing, snowboarding or cycling.... never running! In fact, up until May 2024, the furthest I’d run was 5K, and even then I would have to prevent myself from having an asthma attack - not good! But in a very Yasmin-fashion, I started off with Couch to 5K and got carried away! Before you know it, I've entered into a half marathon!
Rachel asked Yasmin what inspired her to choose Julian House. “When I walk to work through the High Street in Bath every morning, I see the Outreach workers for Julian House crouched talking to the rough sleepers, and I find it touching to see the work they do and the extensive work the charity does in the area."
Yasmin had supported Julian House in the past by donating an old bike to be re-purposed at the Bike Workshop where she learnt about the other services provided in the area.
After taking on this challenge, Yasmin is now keen to take on the Circuit of Bath Walk and we hope to see here there with a team from where she works; Simon Morray-Jones Architects.
You can still donate to her incredible fundraising efforts: Yasmin Freeman is fundraising for Julian House
