How we are getting involved to Break the Cycle.

What is the Breaking the Cycle campaign?

Along with Homeless Link, we are calling for a fundamental shift in the homelessness funding model to Break the Cycle of rising homelessness. This includes: a switch from expensive short-term crisis measures to investment in long-term solutions and prevention.

This means that homelessness services will be better able to find the security and stability to support people affected by and at risk of homelessness.

With rising homelessness levels and a lack of public funding there is a focus on expensive short-term options that do not offer long-term resolutions, such as temporary accommodation.

What this campaign calls for.

A better, fairer system starts with a systematic review of the current homelessness funding system, to identify the inefficiencies and poor process holding back frontline services.
