Julian House staff gathered at the Komedia in Bath for the first ever Diversity & Inclusion Day.
The event was an inspiring day of idea sharing and engaging discussions as we explored our efforts of inclusivity can be continuously enhanced in our services.
In the morning we welcomed a range of external speakers who delivered talks surrounding inclusion covering a range of topics such as neurodiversity, disability and racial diversity. Talks surrounded identifying and eliminating barriers in the workplace and beyond to foster an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels valued.

We would like to say thank you to this panel which included speakers who came from: Inclusive Change, Wecil and Diverse Artists Network.
Staff were treated to a delicious African inspired lunch which was kindly supplied by Jikoni. On the menu was traditional and inspired by dishes from North East Africa.
“We were so pleased to host our first inclusion and diversity day for our staff last week. The day was aim at engaging our people in this important topic and giving them an opportunity to learn more about what we can all do to be more inclusive.” Anna, Head of People at Julian House and Senior Leadership Representative on the Diversity and Inclusion panel.
In the afternoon, there was a Fair featuring booths from various local charities which gave the Julian House staff a platform for staff across the charity to connect with others, share their ideas and expand knowledge.
The charities included: Diversity Trust, Bath Mind, Curo group, The Man Kind Project, Deafplus, The Kite Trust.
