World Homeless Day (Friday 10th October) marked a chance for us to come together to tackle the crisis of homelessness in our communities.
On Friday, we saw individuals, businesses, schools and community groups come together to recognise the impact that homelessness continues to have on people in our communities.
Together, we committed to doing what we can to provide support for people who don't have the safety or security of their own home.
Read on to find out how our teams acknowledged World Homeless Day.
Fundraising
Our fundraising team challenged themselves to raise £10,000 in 24 hours, so that Julian House can continue to support people who find themselves without the safety and dignity of their own home.
It was an amazing response to our call to action – and we’re just £1,225 shy of our big £10,000 fundraising target.
That means there’s still time for you to get involved and make a huge difference to our goal!
Thank you to everyone who donated on Friday, it really means everything to our clients and to our teams on the frontline of the homelessness crisis.
Exeter
We encouraged our community to come together through live music, interactive art experiences and presentations to create an inclusive, engaging day for the community.
X-Factor finalists Reggie and Bollie headlined the event in an energetic live performance with a bespoke song for the event!
The aim of the event was to reduce stigma, showcase lived experiences and raise awareness about the services are available in Exeter.
We were also joined by Bread of Life and St Petrocks, who are united in a common cause of supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship in Exeter and beyond.
Thank you for everyone who took the time to stop by and support our event.
Bath
In the run up to World Homeless Day we worked with local schools as part of their harvest celebrations.

'It’s so lovely to visit Farmborough Primary School in Bath for their Harvest celebration which is a time when we can say thank you for all the good things we have, like food, family, and friends.' Rachel, Fundraising Events Coordinator.
Farmborough Primary School took part in a harvest festival and donated much needed items which will be distributed across our services.
With every tin of food and every kind word the students made a massive impact.
Basingstoke

Our Chief Executive Helen Bedser visited the SIP 10-year anniversary event at Carnival Hall, Basingstoke.
This special event celebrated 10 years of progress and partnership while offering the opportunity for staff to connect with fellow change makers across the service.
World Homeless Day and beyond
We rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our doors open and provide people affected by homelessness with vital accommodation and support.
By donating to or fundraising for Julian House, you can help us make a real difference for our clients.
