Once again participants in one of Bath’s longest running charity events delved into all sorts of interesting questions in an attempt to win the coveted Brain of Bath trophy.

This Christmas quiz welcomed companies from all over Bath and beyond to flaunt their general knowledge through a variety of challenges, including identifying smells, naming London Underground stations, and answers ranging from Socrates to Dirty Den Watts.
During the quiz a handful of questions sparked lively debate. On the very same day, Tokyo lost its title as the world’s most populous city to Jakarta? That one caught a few people out!
Participants received a delicious supper by Pepper Pot Catering and had the chance to enter our raffle of graciously provided prizes and experiences.
We also held a tense elimination game of heads or tails with the winner kindly donating the cash prize back to Julian House.

'Last night’s Brain of Bath was an incredible success! We were thrilled to welcome 25 local businesses, each bringing their A-game to my favourite fundraising event in support of Julian House. We smashed our fundraising target, raising an incredible £25,025 for Julian House!' We can’t wait to see you next year!' Rachel Avent, Fundraising Event Co-Ordinator.
We are very grateful for the support of local businesses who attended and for that of Battens Solicitors and the Battens Charitable Trust who very kindly sponsored the event.
Who were the champions?
The room was tense as the results of the hotly anticipated Brain of Bath quiz were read out to a packed room in the Bath Pavillion.
There were cheers from across the room, as Deloitte triumphed with a 14-point lead ahead of the runners up Quizzards of Odd.
Last year winners Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios returned the trophy in a custom-made trophy case, ready to be given out to the new owners.
What is the Brain of Bath?
The very first Brain of Bath quiz night was in 1999 at the University of Bath.
Over the next 25 years, thousands of quizzers have attempted the quiz while raising money for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Since then the venue has changed to the elegant surroundings of the Assembly Rooms, and then again under the twinkling lights and chandeliers at the Bath Pavillion.
The Brain of Bath returns in 2026 so get practicing…
The event is a great opportunity to put your organisation in the heart of community action while enjoying a fun night out with your colleagues and clients.
