Julian House is committed to the reintegration of offenders back into mainstream society. Through the provision of accommodation and support we have an impact on reducing crime. We also tackle the causes of crime by reducing levels of rough sleeping, substance misuse and ensure clients have a chance to exit past, damaging lifestyles and make a positive contribution to society.
We know that we cannot do this without bringing together specialist agencies. We run the only supported housing project in Bath and North East Somerset which accepts priority offenders and work closely with probation, prisons, safer communities, substance misuse and employment services amongst others. Together we ensure that individuals, who would ordinarily have been homeless on leaving prison, have somewhere to go and support set up when they arrive. This positive start to life on the outside has meant that the move to longer term accommodation without the need to offend is as smooth as it can be, maximising the opportunity for clients to make positive life choices.
Following the success of Peter House we have extended the provision to include properties in the private rented sector providing further capacity and opportunity to prevent the need for anyone to sleep rough.
More recently Julian House has taken on contracted criminal justice services in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Somerset and Devon.
