The Crush

1 in 10 young people experience violence and abuse in their dating relationships. For many young people understanding and speaking up about controlling and abusive behaviour can be very difficult.

Working in together with Youth connect in B&NES, we are running the Crush Project. Crush is a 10 week awareness raising and support programme to help young people make safe and healthy relationships.

The sessions are run in small groups and are specifically designed for young men and women aged between 13-19.

Crush will help young people to understand how to recognise and avoid abusive relationships, how to leave a relationship which is unsafe and help them to manage any exposure to domestic abuse within their home environment. It will also help them to understand the difference between unsafe and healthy relationships.

The Crush project has been evaluated by the University of Worcester, and endorsed by the Safeguarding Boards within the counties of West Mercia as a safe and appropriate programme for young people.

If you have experienced, witnessed, perpetrated or even just felt vulnerable to domestic abuse you can refer yourself to Crush.

If you are interested in finding out more, or are referring a young person to the project please contact Amanda on 01225 354786 or Steff 07530263439.

You can find a referral form here and more information about the programme here.
