We have been providing outreach in B&NES for more than 8 years and have seen some fantastic outcomes for individuals. This service is currently funded through the Help for Single Homeless Fund.
- This service can help people in Bath and North East Somerset who:
Appear to be sleeping rough.
- Are leading a street-based lifestyle, which may involve begging or drinking on the street.
We prioritise vulnerable women within crisis services and have ensured that no woman has needed to spend a first night out on the streets. We provide a gender responsive service, with a specialist complex needs female outreach worker; who goes out on the streets and specifically supports female rough sleepers.
The team identifies people in need of help through regular outreach sessions & by acting on local reports of people who appear to be sleeping rough.
The team works with individuals and communities to improve the lives of rough sleepers by engaging, educating and reducing anti-social behaviour.
By working closely with a wide range of partners, the team are able to move people off the streets and into appropriate accommodation quickly.
The service seeks to secure a rapid, supported re-connection for rough sleepers from outside the local area.
