Join us for My RideLondon on 15th and 16th August and help us raise much needed funds to keep our services running.
to join one of the world’s greatest cycling events and raise money to help support Julian House and stand up to homelessness.
What is it?
RideLondon 2020 was due to take place on 15 and 16 August but was cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, the organisers have launched a free virtual event called My RideLondon where riders can set their own challenges from 1km to 100 miles in their own local area and raise money for charity to support them through the Coronavirus pandemic.
My RideLondon offers you the chance to tackle a range of distances based on the events included in the traditional Prudential RideLondon weekend. There is also a free cycle event that allows you to set your own challenge on the wheels of your choice, including skateboards, rollerskates, wheelchairs or anything that is self-propelled.
Last year the event raised an amazing £11.5m for charities.
How it works
My Prudential RideLondon includes four challenges for all ages and abilities that participants can do on a route of their choice, wherever they are in the world, on either 15 or 16 August:
- 100-mile ride
- 46-mile ride
- 19-mile ride
- FreeCycle: An event that allows you to set your own challenge (starting from 1km) on the wheels of your choice.
Sign up here and upon registering, you will be asked to select your challenge and distance of choice.
With so many fundraising events being cancelled or postponed, the national challenge aims to help charities raise vital funds during this really difficult time.
At Julian House, we’ve had to cancel or postpone all of our pre-existing fundraising events. All of our charity shops and bike workshops had to close at the start of lockdown, and we’re expecting a loss of £200,000 in income because of the virus. This has a massive effect on how and if we can keep our life saving services running.
Help us keep them open. Take part in the My RideLondon challenge, choose us as your charity, raise funds and feel good knowing you’re helping us support the vulnerable men, women and children experiencing homelessness and escaping domestic abuse during the Coronavirus crisis.
On top of this, every rider aged over 18 who registers will have the option of being entered into a fantastic competition that has 25 top-quality prizes available including a brand new Brompton Bicycle valued at more than £1,000, a HIGH5 nutrition bundle worth £250 and top- of-the-range cycling equipment including a SRAM groupset and Zipp wheels.
Sign up today, join one of the world’s greatest cycling events and raise money to help support Julian House and stand up to homelessness.
Upon registering, you will be asked to select your challenge and distance of choice. The site will also provide a link to a Virgin Money Giving where you can set up your fundraising page and select to raise money for Julian House.
Once signed up, you’ll also be able to download the new My Prudential RideLondon app from 10th August. Among many great features, the new app has:
- A GPS function that enables friends and family to follow your progress on the virtual Prudential RideLondon route
- Selfie frames to give you personalised Prudential RideLondon finisher photographs
- AND a direct donation button through to your own Virgin Money Giving fundraising page
