Our Trainer Tenancies is a supported step-down accommodation for young adults aged between 18-24. Set in a convenient location, a bus ride or a 20-minute walk from Exeter city centre, our trainer tenancies provide a stable place as a stepping stone for young adults who are on their way to living independently. There are 8 trainer tenancy spaces (4 flats with 2 tenants in each).
What can you expect?
- There is one floating support-worker and an important part of the tenancy is to engage in key sessions on a weekly basis initially, maintaining good levels of communication. Support offered can be anything from help with training and employment opportunities, to social networks, to managing accommodation, to budgeting and benefits, to engagement in meaningful activities.
- Occupation is expected to be around 9 months, before moving on. Clients receive support for move-on as required.
- Each accommodation unit has a shared kitchen, bathroom and living room, and separate bedroom.
Trainer tenancies are best suited to individuals who have already resided at other supported accommodation. The tenancies are a step-down from this. It is for young people who are almost ready to live independently but are looking for that final stepping-stone.
