Volunteer at Frome Charity Shop

Are you looking to do some rewarding volunteering in your community? Do you want to do fun and varied work while supporting Julian House to provide vital services for vulnerable individuals across the South West? Then our Frome Charity Shop needs you!

Julian House has five charity shops operating in Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire which provide income to sustain and improve the support we provide to our clients. Our shops recycle used or unwanted items that people have donated and make sure they go to a good home which reduces waste and helps the environment. They are also valuable community hubs that help raise awareness of our activities and the needs of our clients, and a place where people can find inexpensive items and people to chat to.

There are lots of ways to help in a charity shop. You could:

  • Cover the tills and help customers
  • Sort, prepare and price stock
  • Oversee a section of the store to make sure it is stocked, tidy and organised
  • Tidy and clean the store or stockrooms

The skills you need

  • You need to be happy working as part of a small team and keeping to a schedule.
  • It is also helpful if you have some other skills like talking to customers, doing some simple maths at the tills, or being able to sort and organise items.

What is in it for you

  • You will have a volunteer manager who will support you in your role
  • You will have access to our learning & development for volunteers
