LIT clothing has launched Hoodies for Homeless, a campaign to raise money and distribute warm hoodies to people sleeping rough or in temporary accommodation across the South West.

This summer, Julian House took part in an inspiring art exhibition called ‘This City We Live In’. Presented in a collaborative style, this exhibition is held at CoLab Atrium in Exeter and includes the artwork from people accessing Devon based charities Julian House and CoLab and was funded by the Urban Learning Academy through UK Shared Prosperity Funding. Manvers Street Baptist Church has extended the lease for Julian House’s emergency off-the-streets shelter for people who are rough sleeping, following a period of uncertainty for the charity.

My name is Nick, I am a supported housing worker for Julian House homeless services. I manage 3 houses in the Salisbury area with 9 clients under my support umbrella.   The service provides support and accommodation for clients that have experienced homelessness and in many cases substance abuse issues.

World Homeless Day (Friday 10th October) marked a chance for us to come together to tackle the crisis of homelessness in our communities. On Friday, we saw individuals, businesses, schools and community groups come together to recognise the impact that homelessness continues to have on people in our communities.
