Gift Aid

A Gift Aid declaration allows Julian House to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Julian House we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

To sign up to this scheme, please complete a gift aid declaration, this is automatically sent to us and considered when we receive your cheque.

Gift Aid is reclaimed by Julian House from the tax you pay for the current tax year. Your details are needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.

Donate when you shop

Using an online site like Easy Fundraising means you can raise money for Julian House whilst doing an online shop. It’s simple to use and it’s free, it turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for Julian House.

You just start your online shopping using the link above- then shop as normal. The retailers, of which there are over 4,000  will then make a small donation to say “thank you”.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving, also known as Give As You Earn, is a simple way to make regular donations straight from your salary, without having to give any bank details. It is one of the most tax-effective ways of giving to charity as it comes out of your gross pay from your employer (before tax) so it will cost you at least 20% less.

A monthly donation of £10 will only cost a basic rate tax payer £8 per month, or £6 for a higher rate tax payer.

Regular gifts save admin costs and help Julian House to plan ahead more effectively. Ask your employer if they run Payroll Giving scheme. If your employer doesn’t currently run a Payroll Giving scheme, they can find out how to set one up at gov.uk/payroll-giving.

Hotels that help

Whilst you may be holding off from booking a holiday at the moment, it’s worth remembering that using our link here, you will be giving money to Julian House at no extra cost to you! It’s that simple.

Hotels That Help earns money by sending you to leading booking websites like Booking.com/SkyScanner, ViaTor, G Adventures, and WorldNomads etc. (when you make a booking). Hotels that Help then passes these profits on to various charities seeking to tackle homelessness. This is all at no added cost to you whatsoever. Using Hotels that Help does not increase the price at all and there are no added fees of any kind. You receive the same selection, booking process, and customer support.

Donate your time

Whether you choose to buddy with someone in our supported housing projects, your time and effort will be deeply valued. You can read more about our volunteer opportunities here.

Donate your items

We would love your saleable pre-loved items in our charity shops. To find out what we accept and where / when you can take them please visit our charity shop page.

Likewise, our Bike Workshops in Bath, Bristol and Trowbrige would really appreciate any unwanted bikes. To find out what they will accept and where please contact your local store.

Furniture, bedding and electrical items

Whilst we cannot accept these at our charity shops, we are always in need for furniture/furnishings when we are moving clients into new accommodation, often with nothing. However, storage is an issue for us so please contact 01225 354650 or admin@julianhouse.org.uk to see if we have a current need. Please note that any furniture must show the kite mark and dimensions/ photos are useful so that we can establish if they will fit.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept donations of duvets but welcome sleeping bags and blankets.
