Big Basingstoke Sleep-Out

Sleep-Out for just one night and help those forced to sleep outside every night

Join us and others across Basingstoke and Deane by sleeping out and helping to raise vital funds and awareness for vulnerable individuals and help to help those who have been devastated by homelessness to rebuild their lives.

It’s a grim realisation, that without support like ours, the life expectancy of a long-term homeless person is just 45 years!

The Big Basingstoke Sleep-Out takes place in the grounds of May’s Bounty cricket club. Or, if you prefer, you can take place in your own home/garden.

Last year Julian House provided life-changing support to over 1,800 vulnerable individuals who were experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness across the South West. By sleeping out, and asking your friends and family to sponsor you, you’ll be helping us to support even more.

On top of everyday challenges, the on-going impact of Covid-19 has had a devastating effect on the people we support. We’ve been working hard to help support vulnerable people in Basingstoke and Dean including assertive outreach and our Community Activities Network to bring people back together.

Event Details

The Sleep-Out isn’t about replicating rough sleeping. Of course, spending one cold night in May’s Bounty sports grounds couldn’t possibly come close to the stark reality of being homeless and sleeping on the streets. However, by taking on our eye-opening challenge, you will be raising funds to help change and save lives.

Whether you choose to join us at May’s Bounty or choose to ‘camp out’ in your garden with friends or family, sleep in your office with your colleagues or even on your kitchen floor, wherever you are you can make a difference!

It may not be your most comfortable night’s sleep, but it will be your most memorable.

Location: May’s Bounty sports grounds, Fairfields Rd, Basingstoke, England, RG21 3BU

Will I receive any resources for the night and to help me fundraise?

Absolutely. We will send you regular emails between now and the event to help organise your fundraising and how to sleep out on the night. If you’d like some fundraising tips now, head to our Fundraising Tips & Ideas page.

What is the fundraising target?

Every penny and pound you raise goes towards supporting vulnerable and isolated individuals. We do not charge an entry fee for the event but ask that all participants to raise as much as they can so that we can support more vulnerable people. See our Impact Report to find out the important ways your funds can make a difference and help rebuild lives.
